Bob Nutting: Pirates well-positioned to help Jung Ho Kang

As Jung Ho Kang continues through the South Korean legal process regarding his latest DUI arrest, Pirates owner Bob Nutting believes the team can help Kang off the field.

“He has disappointed himself and the organization is disappointed,” Nutting said last week. “We appreciate that he’s taken responsibility. And frankly the Pittsburgh Pirates are well-positioned as an organization that cares about players and about people to help provide the support for him that he needs to be a great player on the field, get his life back in order and to move forward.”

Nutting spoke before an announcement Tuesday that Kang, to the best of the Pirates’ knowledge, would miss the first full-squad workout Friday because of a Feb.
