Andrew McCutchen, the face of the Pirates franchise for the past nine seasons, debuted for the San Francisco Giants in their Cactus League opener Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers. He wore the same uniform number — No. 22 — and hit in the same lineup spot — third — but he trotted to a new position — right field — when he took the field after player introductions.
Seeing McCutchen in orange and black was a little different too.
“The orange is the only thing I’ve got to get used to,” McCutchen said before the game in the Giants clubhouse.
