Kris Letang felt good in his return to competitive action

The first shift, Kris Letang admitted, was a bit of an adjustment period.

After six months away from game action, it’s understandable.

Letang eventually got more and more comfortable, though, in his return to competitive action in the Penguins’ 4-1 preseason loss to St. Louis Sunday night.

It marked his first time on the ice against an actual opponent since Feb. 21, as he missed the end of the regular season and the Penguins’ entire playoff run following surgery to correct a herniated disc in his neck.

“It's been awhile, so I was just glad to be out there playing the game I love,” Letang said.
