Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams calling Saturday's 84-80 Game 4 road win in the Western Conference finals "a slugfest" was highly appropriate.
Neither the second-seeded Suns or fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers gave in nor could they make a shot in the fourth quarter.
"That's what playoff basketball is all about," Williams said.
The Suns came out of that brutal defensive battle with commanding 3-1 series lead to put them a victory away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993.
Williams is proud to have reached this point in just his second season as caretaker of the program, but wasn't in a celebratory mood.
