The Pelicans might never be in this position again -- to have a franchise player for whom another team is willing to give up young talent and draft picks, even if he is only guaranteed to be there one season.
If New Orleans gets its desired multi-team deal, a franchise will lose a pick, and it would impact who is drafted where.
