The Coyotes' resident big-name forwards, Phil Kessel and Taylor Hall, carried Arizona to a 6-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday at Gila River Arena.
Kessel scored the first two goals of the game to stake the Coyotes to an early lead.
The recipient of a heads-up pass by linemate Derek Stepan, Kessel skated into open ice and ripped a shot over Sharks goaltender Aaron Dell for a 1-0 lead at 12:03 of the first period.
Kessel struck again for his 11th of the season at 5:01 of the second period when he beat Dell short-side on the power play.
