Coyotes re-sign defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to one-year contract

The Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to a one-year contract. Lyubushkin played 41 games with the team last season, scoring four points with 13 penalty minutes.

“I am very happy to resign with the Coyotes,” he said. “We have a very good team and I’m excited about next season.”

A 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Moscow, Lyubushkin finished fourth on the team and third among NHL rookies with 150 hits last season.

"We are pleased to re-sign Ilya," John Chayka, Coyotes president of hockey operations and general manager, said in a release. “He was a solid addition to our team last year and provided us with depth and a physical presence on our blueline.
