Arizona Coyotes CEO Xavier Gutierrez: Allowing fans is about reconnecting team, community

The Arizona Coyotes return home for games Friday and Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights, hoping to recapture the form that earned them three points in the first two games of the season.

They also get to play in front of fans at Gila River Arena again, which despite the public health risk is something that matters to them. As such, the team continues to make safety the primary focus in allowing limited capacity in games.

"We're constantly mindful that we're in the middle of a pandemic," Coyotes President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said.

Gutierrez has been asked if opening the arena and selling tickets to fans was important for the organization in terms of needed revenue.
