Arizona Coyotes blow 2-goal lead in loss to Carolina Hurricanes

The Coyotes blew a two-goal lead in a 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday at Gila River Arena.

Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov had two goals in the game.

Alex Goligoski scored the game's first goal at 15:45 of the first period when his seeing-eye wrist shot found its way through traffic and past Hurricanes goaltender James Reimer.

The Coyotes took a 2-0 lead after Christian Dvorak potted a power-play goal at 4:06 of the second period. However, Arizona seemed to take its foot off the gas after that.

Svechnikov got the Hurricanes on the board at 5:06 of the middle frame and Jaccob Slavin evened the score less than four minutes later

It was Svechnikov who put the Hurricanes in front at 11:01 of the second period, putting the Coyotes in a hole as play moved to the third.
