Arizona Coyotes acquire Alex Galchenyuk, trade Max Domi to Montreal Canadiens

The Coyotes on Friday acquired center Alex Galchenyuk from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Max Domi.

Galchenyuk, 24, tallied 19 goals and 32 assists in 82 games last season. In six NHL seasons — all with Montreal — Galchenyuk has amassed 151 points in 418 games.

“Alex is a skilled, productive forward who has scored 30 goals in this league," Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka said via the club's Twitter. "We’re excited to add another elite young player to our core group moving forward.”

Galchenyuk is under contract for the next two seasons and has a cap hit of 4.
