Phillies outfielder Johan Rojas has officially been suspended 80 games after failing a a performance-enhancing-drug test, Major League Baseball announced Monday.
Rojas tested positive for Boldenone, which will sideline him without pay until June 25. He was in competition for a spot on Philadelphia’s bench during spring training and was originally supposed to play for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic this month. Rojas will be banned from postseason competition in 2026, should the Phillies qualify.
A defensive specialist with a strong glove, Rojas provided a spark when he was promoted to the majors straight from Double-A in 2023.
