It took extra innings, but the Phillies were able to win game one of their three-game series with the Miami Marlins.

Philadelphia’s two young star hitters, Rhys Hoskins and Nick Williams, took center stage in the 9-8 win.

Nick Pivetta had a rocky start, as he allowed seven runs in his five innings of work. He gave up eight hits, including one home run. His ERA is now a 6.75.

For the Marlins, rookie Dillon Peters went six innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits. He was removed from the game after six full innings of work.
