Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez finished second in the voting for the 2025 BBWAA National League Cy Young Award.
The results were announced during an MLB Network special on Wednesday night. Paul Skenes was the unanimous winner. Cristopher Sánchez received all 30 second-place votes. Jesús Luzardo received one fourth-place vote and three fifth-place votes. Zack Wheeler received one fifth-place vote.
2025 was Sánchez’s best season yet. The 28-year-old posted a 2.50 ERA with 212 strikeouts in 202 innings. His 8.0 Baseball-Reference wins above replacement was the most among all National League players.
This is the second straight season a Phillies pitcher finished second in NL Cy Young Award voting.
