Goalie Brian Elliott was named the NHL’s third star of the week Monday after leading the Flyers to three straight wins on a Western Canada trip.
Former Flyer Brayden Schenn, now starring for St. Louis, was named the No. 1 star.
Elliott had a 1.67 GAA and .954 save percentage as he sparked the Flyers to wins over Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
“It’s great when you’re recognized….It shows how the group is playing,” Elliott, 32, said. “It’s my name up there, but the Philadelphia Flyers team deserves all that.”
Overall, he has a 9-6-6 record, a 2.
