Eagles reportedly set to sign rookie K Jake Elliott

The Eagles are going to sign kicker Jake Elliott, according to NFL Network and Elliott’s Twitter page.

The team has not yet made the move official. Elliott will take the place of Caleb Sturgis, who has a hip flexor injury. If Sturgis goes on injured reserve, the Eagles would not be able to activate him for eight weeks.

Elliott, 22, was a fifth-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals and is on the Bengals’ practice squad. He was 3 of 6 on field goals in the preseason and hit his only extra point attempt, with all five of his kickoffs going for touchbacks.
