The 76ers made an official statement Monday on something that most folks kind of already knew.
“They are not playing in summer league,” team president Bryan Colangelo said of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
However, Colangelo did say that the team wants 2016 draft pick Furkan Korkmaz to play in the summer leagues. The Sixers play in the Utah Summer League from July 3-6 and the NBA Summer League on July 7-17.
Simmons was sidelined this season after suffering a fractured right foot on Sept. 30. Embiid played in only 31 games because of rest or injures.
