It’s no secret that the Philadelphia 76ers bench was a mess this past season. Part of that had to do with big trades draining the bench’s strength and part of it had to do with the overall roster construction. The point guard spot was the second weakest position on the bench by the end of the season and it needs to be upgraded.
The lack of strength at the playmaking spot can’t be put all on T.J. McConnell. Yes, McConnell doesn’t have the physical skills to compete against more elite opponents, but he does play with a lot of heart and energy which helps in making up for that weakness.
