Philadelphia 76ers fans should be encouraged by Markelle Fultz’s performance in his NBA debut against the Washington Wizards. Going into the game, the hype for the number one overall pick decreased dramatically. This may have been down to Fultz’s minor shoulder and knee issues, his lack of a reliable jump shot, or his lack of playing time during preseason which led to him starting the season on the bench.
As I said in a previous article, starting Fultz from the bench is a great move as it gives the rookie time to adjust to the speed of the game.
