Despite high expectations, Missouri's offense has faltered

Tight end Jason Reese was struck by Missouri's offense as he and his teammates warmed up for Saturday's game against Purdue.

There was no energy. They were flat.

"It's just the competing factor," Reese said. "I don't think it's there."

Hype surrounded the Tigers' attack heading into the 2017 season. The unit showed flashes of brilliance in 2016, and returned 10 of 11 starters.

Missouri's offense was supposed to feature a three-headed monster of Drew Lock, Damarea Crockett, and J'Mon Moore. Missouri's offense was supposed to control the tempo of play. And, most importantly for Tigers fans, Missouri's offense was supposed to score points.
