Cessna: Aggies have fight coming Saturday in DFW

Texas A&M’s open week will be Oct. 21, which seemed an advantage heading into the football season, because it will come after a grueling four-week grind that starts Saturday against Arkansas.

But for the Aggies (2-1) to fully benefit from their open date, they need to play well for the next month beginning with Arkansas, which caught a break by not playing last week.

Typically, having an open date after only two games isn’t an advantage, because no one wants to play 10 straight weeks, especially in the Southeastern Conference. As brutal as that sounds, Razorbacks (1-1) needed the open week after a lackluster 28-7 loss to TCU.
