Unlike the Ottawa Senators first game against the Leafs, this one was not without opposition. Logan Brown opened the scoring a little less than five minutes into the first period. However, the Leafs answered back twice in the first period off of goals by Marleau and van Riemsdyk. The Sens ended the first period trailing by a score of 2-1.
The second period saw the scoring slow as the Sens tried to answer back as the Leafs dominated the first. After a little over 15 minutes, Fredrik Claesson scored on the powerplay to tie the game at two.
