The Orlando Magic front office was elated when Mohamed Bamba fell to them with the sixth pick in this past June’s draft.
Bamba’s intangibles — he has a 7-foot-10 wingspan in case no one has told you that in the last 10 minutes — high IQ and high character fit the mold of the new Magic. He was emblematic of the direction the team wants to go. A symbol fo the team turning over a new leaf.
During workouts this past summer Bamba seemed to be everywhere. He was mixing it up with other NBA players like LeBron James and Joel Embiid.
