UNCASVILLE, CONN. — Tre Mann scored a career-high 19 points, including five free throws in the final minute, and added six rebounds along with four assists and five steals to help Florida open its season with a 76-69 victory over Army on Wednesday.
Army (3-1) led the entire first half — by as many as 11 — and was up 39-31 at the break.
Florida battled back and took a 67-66 lead with 3:14 remaining on Omar Payne’s dunk. The Gators didn’t make another field goal but secured the win by making 11 of 12 free throws after struggling at the line for much of the game.
