The Philadelphia Union earned a 1-0 win over New York City FC during a match Thursday that featured a tribute to those killed while getting detained by police.

The Union have joined Orlando City at the top of the Group A standings, with both teams clinching three points apiece in their opening matches of the tournament.

Before kickoff, players from both sides took a moment to kneel in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Philadelphia Union players unveiled their jerseys, which bore the names of Black men and women killed in police custody.
