For the second consecutive year, the Orlando Magic have earned a 1-0 lead in a first-round playoff series.
Last season’s Game 1 victory in Toronto was followed by four consecutive losses to the Raptors. The Magic are eager to apply the lessons and experiences from that series to their current one against the Milwaukee Bucks.
What the Magic took away from last year’s playoff loss to the Raptors was an understanding that a series becomes a game-to-game learning process. Shooting guard Evan Fournier said that while while Toronto excelled in that area, Orlando struggled.
“That was probably the biggest lesson we learned from last year, that you have to progress within the series, progress after every game and you get a better understanding of how the other team is playing you,” he said.
