FC Dallas was removed from the MLS is Back Tournament Monday after 10 players and one staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
The FC Dallas delegation began registering positive test results shortly after reporting to the Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista on June 27. Those who tested positive were isolated and are being treated by a physician, while the rest of the team was quarantined and tested daily. As a result, Dallas could not train or prepare for the tournament.
“Given the impact of the number of positive tests on the club’s ability to train and play competitive matches, we have made the decision to withdraw FC Dallas from the MLS is Back Tournament,” MLS commissioner Don Garber said in a statement.
