Dolphins CB Byron Jones will not play in Thursday’s game vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones, who signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with Miami in the offseason, has been ruled out with a groin injury and will not play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones, who was only sidelined once in 50 games with the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Dolphins, suffered the injury during the first quarter of Miami’s Week 2 loss against the Buffalo Bills.

Depending on the injury severity, Jones could potentially return in Week 4 for Miami’s home game against the Seattle Seahawks.

As for the Jaguars game, the Dolphins will turn to rookie first-round pick Noah Igbinoghene to play alongside former Pro Bowler Xavien Howard without Jones in the lineup.
