Oregon State football back to practice while still processing abrupt Gary Andersen departure

CORVALLIS -- The thud of pads on Tuesday reverberated throughout the open air of the Prothro practice fields.

As 11-on-11 drills progressed for the Oregon State football team in its first practice after coach Gary Andersen's stunning departure, momentary silence was noticeable as music from a customized playlist no longer blared from nearby loudspeakers.

Cory Hall stood more than 30 yards behind the defense, hands on his knees watching the action in his first full day as Andersen's interim replacement. Hoots and hollers occasionally rang out from the offense after a big play, including a massive gain for Thomas Tyner.
