Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith was ecstatic to get a healthy Preston Weigel back in the Cowboys' lineup at 197 pounds.
Smith announced Weigel's return Tuesday before a question was even asked by a reporter. As Weigel walked through the lobby of Gallagher-Iba Arena on his way to practice, Smith pointed at Weigel and proclaimed, "Weigel is coming back."
Weigel, a senior All-American, was sidelined the past 8 weeks with an undisclosed injury. He will be in the starting lineup next week as OSU travels to Northern Colorado and Wyoming for a pair of road duals.
