Oklahoma State senior Colin Simpson, who led the Big 12 in home runs through the 2018 regular season, was named to Collegiate Baseball's preseason All-America third team as an outfielder Monday.
Simpson saw some time in left field last season, but he worked primarily as a catcher for the Cowboys, who finished a game outside of the first in the Big 12. As a junior, Simpson hit .280 with a team-high 18 home runs, 51 RBIs and a .578 slugging percentage, earning ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region first-team recognition as a catcher.
