NORMAN — Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley has heard the criticisms of Jalen Hurts' passing.
Didn't faze him a bit when pursuing the Alabama transfer quarterback.
“He's really progressed as a thrower,” Riley said Sunday. “A lot of the film I've watched this year I see a very capable thrower.”
During Hurts' two seasons as the Crimson Tide's starter in 2016-17, he threw for more than 250 yards just five times, 300 yards just once.
In the last three seasons, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray have combined to throw for 400 yards four times. Twice in his last two seasons as the starter, Mayfield topped the 500-yard mark.
