The stunning Oklahoma football loss to Kansas State was costly, dropping the Sooners 15 spots, to 18th, in this week’s Associated Press Poll.

The precipitous fall in this week’s national rankings leaves Oklahoma behind both Texas (9) and Oklahoma State (17) in the AP Top 25. Kansas State and Baylor both received votes.

Reigning national champion LSU was the other team to take a major tumble in the polls this week after losing at home to Mississippi State in the season opener for both schools.
