Quarterback Baker Mayfield, tight end Mark Andrews, offensive tackle Orlando Brown and linebacker/defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo represent the Sooners on the 25-man team selected by USA Today based on their individual performance through the first half of the 2017.
Mayfield is rightfully the headliner among the four Sooners selected to the USA Today midseason first team. The fifth-year senior and former walk-on leads the country in completion percentage (72.7 percent), passing efficiency rating (207.3) and yards per pass attempt (12.3). He has passed for 1,937 yards this season and has 17 touchdowns through the air and just one interception.
