PASADENA, Calif. — Oklahoma got off to a quick start and didn’t look back, blowing out UCLA 48-14 at the Rose Bowl on Saturday night.
Here are five takeaways from the victory:
1. Hurts’ running ability shines again
Much like the season-opening win over Houston, Hurts ran wild from early in the game.
On Oklahoma’s first drive alone, Hurts had 99 yards rushing — including a 52-yard run on the game’s first play and then a 30-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-3 to end the drive.
While the Sooners have had good running quarterbacks the last few years in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, Hurts is a different kind of runner.
