The coronavirus effect on all aspects of society is frustrating. It’s a particular kind of frustration for sports.
“There isn’t any question about it,” Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said on a teleconference Thursday. “I think those of us in athletics are geared towards: ‘There is our opponent. Let’s go game plan and figure out how to defeat our opponent, and see if we can execute the plan.’ Unfortunately, this has enough changing components that that sort of planning and execution is pretty difficult. It’s a very uncertain environment.”
Bowlsby’s 58-minute teleconference was short of hard answers, understandably, but long on interesting perspective.
