Oklahoma City Thunder cap bustling day by adding backup point guard Trey Burke

In a protracted domino effect which began with the June acquisition of Paul George, Sam Presti finalized his win-now mantra by adding Carmelo Anthony and free-agent Trey Burke to the Oklahoma City Thunder roster on Saturday afternoon.

Last season with Washington, Burke, 24, averaged just 5.0 ppg, 1.8 apg, and 12 mpg (career lows). However, during a three-season span with Utah, Burke’s 12.1 ppg and 4.1 apg placed him among the league’s top young floor generals.

With no viable third point guard option entering camp for OKC, Burke will presumably compete with veteran Raymond Felton for backup floor-general honors.
