Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day Tests Positive For COVID-19, Larry Johnson Will Fill In As Head Coach

Second-year Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has tested positive for COVID-19, but this weekend's game at Illinois remains a go, the school announced on Friday afternoon.

In Day's place, defensive line coach Larry Johnson will serve as interim head coach.

The athletic department confirmed an "increased number of positive tests this week for the coronavirus" which it says is "in contrast" to testing throughout the season. Despite the positive cases, the game will not be cancelled since the positives do not reach the threshold set by the Big Ten.

Ohio State will fly to Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday morning instead of Friday evening, as originally planned, due to addition COVID-19 testing prior to travel.
