Even though we weren't able to record this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays until late Tuesday night, we couldn't go without talking about the return of Kerry Coombs.
So we did our best to summon some of the abundant energy of Ohio State's returning assistant coach and new defensive coordinator, and started this week's show by talking all about Coombs' return to Columbus, why he was the choice for Ryan Day and both the excitement and uncertainty that comes with his hiring.
After the Coombs portion of the show, we revisited Day's latest press conference – which came after last Wednesday's episode of the podcast – and discussed some of our biggest takeaways from that, including the potential for Day to split offensive play-calling duties with Kevin Wilson in 2020, how the Buckeyes will get their best six wide receivers on the field and Day's acknowledgement that running back is one of the team's biggest concerns for next season.
