NAPA — Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock performed the warmup act on reporting day, but the real action begins Saturday morning when the Raiders hold the first of 16 scheduled practices on the grounds of Redwood Middle School behind the Napa Valley Marriott.
The Raiders coach and general manager fielded questions on a variety of topics Friday, keeping to themselves the fact that wide receiver Antonio Brown would wind up on the non-football injury list and miss some practice time — one estimate was “probably” a week.
Not necessarily a huge deal, but at least a minor disappointment in that part of Brown’s appeal is his durability and the pace he sets during practice.
