Gareon Conley has been placed on injured reserve by the Raiders, ending the 2017 first-round pick’s rookie season, ESPN’s Field Yates reported.

Oakland took Conley 24th overall out of Ohio State in April’s draft. A shin injury held him out of the season opener in Tennessee, but Conley returned for games at home against the Jets and at Washington in Weeks 2 and 3. The corner had seven combined tackles in those two games.

Conley has been sidelined since after his shin injury worsened. Both head coach Jack Del Rio and general manager Reggie McKenzie said a decision on Conley’s immediate future would be made early this week.
