Raiders hoping for big return out of Edwards in 2017

  • Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie told 95.7 The Game Thursday that defensive lineman Mario Edwards Jr. has been “extremely motivated” this offseason.
  • After having his 2015 rookie season cut short with a neck injury in Week 15, the former second-round pick missed most of 2016 with a hip injury he suffered in the team’s preseason opener.
  • In 2015, he saw significant time as an interior defender (368 snaps) and on the edge (240 snaps).
  • When lined up on the inside, he registered a 9.6 run-stop percentage, which ranked 12th among 3-4 defensive ends with a minimum of 115 run snaps.
