Marshawn Lynch & Marcus Peters: Oakland blood is thicker than NFL water

Walking out of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Thursday, Marcus Peters is pissed.

Aside from his Chiefs losing to the Raiders in his hometown, the third-year All-Pro cornerback is still reconciling the second-quarter scuffle that resulted in Marshawn Lynch, the Raiders running back whom Peters affectionately calls “cousin,” being ejected from the contest.

Lynch ran onto the field ostensibly to help keep Peters from any further trouble, in the process pushing an official and earning himself a one-game suspension.

The moment also raised an interesting question for a team that recently finalized its move to Las Vegas while simultaneously signing a favorite son of Oakland: Does city come before team and the NFL shield?
