Former Raiders RB Tyrone Wheatley named head coach at Morgan State

Thursday Morgan State University named former Raiders running back Tyrone Wheatley as their new head coach.

Wheatley played 10 years in the league, spending his final six in Silver & Black. Wheatley ranks 8th all time on the Raiders rushing list with 3,682 yards on 914 attempts.

Three years after his retirement as a player in 2004, Wheatley began his coaching career at his alma mater as head coach at Dearborn Heights Robichaud High School in Michigan.

In 2008 he moved up to the college ranks as a running backs coach at Ohio Northern, then moved on to Eastern Michigan (2009), and Syracuse (2010-12).
