Wide receiver Amari Cooper and left tackle Donald Penn announced today that they will not play in the Pro Bowl, meaning now four Oakland Raiders players who were voted to the game won't be participating in the game.
Penn is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in Oakland's regular season finale, while Cooper did not give a reason for skipping the game. However, Cooper was playing through a shoulder injury he suffered late in the season.
The duo joined quarterback Derek Carr (broken fibula) and pass rusher Khalil Mack (back) in missing the game. Center Rodney Hudson is also considering skipping the game after suffering an ankle injury in Oakland's playoff loss to the Texans.
The Raiders originally had seven players selected to the Pro Bowl, more than any other team in the league. Along with those five, safety Reggie Nelson and guard Kelechi Osemele are planning to play in the game.
Cincinnati’s Andrew Whitworth will take Penn’s place, while Denver's Emmanuel Sanders will replace Cooper.
