OAKLAND — It’d been a while since Marcus Semien had to answer questions fired at him from a semi-circle of local media.
It’s not because he’s slumping, not because he’s inconsistent — he’s warranted no check-ins, had few games that stuck too far out of the ordinary.
Semien has just been…excellent. All season. Extraordinary became ordinary, but that status quo needs to crack.
“It is not pre-mature to talk about him in the MVP race,” manager Bob Melvin said.
