Northern Iowa expects to be overlooked this week.
Getting quietly tucked inside the top 20 ranked teams, returning only one unseeded All-American, and finishing outside the top 10 at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships for 25 years will leave you outside the contender conversation.
But the plan, upon leaving Cedar Falls, is for the Panthers to crash the party.
“They want to serve some notice to the country right now,” UNI head coach Doug Schwab told reporters Monday at his weekly press luncheon.
“There’s not a lot of talk about our team being one of the better teams in the country — and I believe we are.
