CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Northern Iowa raced out to a double-digit lead in the opening seven minutes and was never really in danger the rest of the night, knocking off Alcorn State, 73-45, in Monday’s home opener at the McLeod Center.
The Panthers sported a modest 37-27 intermission lead, but UNI hit the gas after the break, ripping off a 21-10 run to start the second half and put the game away.
