CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – After excelling on the gridiron and in the classroom this season, Northern Iowa junior running back Marcus Weymiller earned CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team honors, the organization announced Thursday.
Weymiller, who is majoring in political science at UNI and plans to attend law school upon graduation, owns the highest GPA among CoSIDA All-Americans at the running back position after earning a 3.96.
The Waukon, Iowa native had a breakout performance against South Dakota State on Oct. 14, earning his first carry in over year as the junior gained 170 yards on 42 attempts (FCS season-high) against the Jackrabbits.
