The UNI women's basketball team hosted its ninth annual Golf Gig on Aug. 12, with 108 golfers participating in the event. Twenty-seven teams in all participated in this year's outing, with each group featuring a UNI player or coach.
The team of Keith Sandvold, John Martin, Brandon Nelson, Jacob Nelson and UNI sophomore Megan Maahs carded a 56 to run away with the championship. The team of Todd Hermansen, Matt McManus, Joey Lester, Josh Ostrem and UNI sophomore Abby Gerrits shot 61 to finish second.
Following 18 holes of golf at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, dinner and a program were held to recognize the winning golfers.
