LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Competition begins today for three former Panthers at the 2017 U.S. Open Wrestling Championships.
Two 2014 All-Americans, Joe Colon and Joey Lazor, will meet in the first round of the men's freestyle division at 61K. Colon took third for UNI at 133 pounds and Lazor was sixth at 141 pounds.
Blaize Cabell will be competing in the men's freestyle division at 96K.
The men's freestyle competition will be contested over the next two days, running through the semifinals today and concluding with medal rounds and championship finals on Saturday.
